ILMAN Empowers Illinois Muslims: President ILMAN Inaugurates Organization Starting A New Chapter in Political Engagement

Staying true to its mission, ILMAN has organized two events recently. These events aimed to empower the Illinois Muslim Community, ultimately giving them a platform to address their concerns.
On June 5th, ILMAN organized a roundtable discussion with Illinois State Representative, Abdelnasser Rashid and a few other candidates. This roundtable discussion served as a platform for Illinois Muslims to have an open dialogue on matters important to them. The attendees gained a chance to address their concerns with the local officials, instilling the sense that they are heard.
To carry forth the momentum developed by this roundtable discussion, ILMAN organized another event. Working in collaboration with the Islamic Society of Northwest Suburbs (ISNS), this event featured another discussion between attendees and the local officials.
The local officials attending the event were Nabeela Syed, the Illinois Representative for District 51, and Resident Scholar, Sh. Nazir Chahin. The objective of this event was to focus on the power of civic engagement and encourage the residents to vote.
Both events were a valuable opportunity for the Illinois Muslims to discuss their concerns and strengthen their connection with local officials. These events also emphasized the importance of active participation in the political process.
