Building Bridges: ILMAN Hosts Civic Engagement Events
July 24, 2024The IL Muslim Action Network Calls for Peace and Unity Following Assassination Attempt on Former President Donald Trump** Chicago, Illinois – July 14, 2024.
The IL Muslim Action Network condemns the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Dr. Khalid Husain, President of The IL Muslim Action Network stated,
“We are deeply saddened by the recent events and strongly condemn the use of violence for any purpose. It is imperative that we foster an environment of peace and unity, where every individual feels safe and respected. We must continue to advocate for the importance of civic engagement and the power of coming together to make a positive difference. Again, we have seen the need for sensible gun control with a ban on assault rifles.”
We encourage everyone to join us in our efforts to promote peace, unity, and understanding within our communities.
Let us work together to build a nation where all lives are equally protected. As we are shocked by the violence against Mr. Trump, we are also devastated by the Israeli air strikes using US bombs on the UNRWA school in Palestine which occurred only hours before.
We wish Mr. Trump a swift recovery and send our deepest condolences to the family of firefighter Corey Comperatore, who was killed as a bystander in the assassination attempt.
As we continue to witness these tragedies, we hope our country can come together to enact the right of life, liberty, and justice for all.
Dr Khalid Husain Chairman Illinois Muslim Action Network.
